Carolina Castiglioni Launches New Brand

Carolina Castiglioni, daughter of Marni founder Consuelo Castiglioni, is launching a ready-to-wear fashion label called Plan C. Holding down her previous position as Director of Special Projects at Marni, Carolina will serve as the Creative Director for her new brand with her father Gianni acting as chief executive officer and her brother Giovanni as Operations Director.

Plan C will present its first collection in June for the SS19 season, and then follow a bi-annual collection format with all collections being made at the company’s Milanese headquarters on Via Visconti di Modrone; a location that had previously been used by Carolina’s grandmother and her fur company, Ciwifurs.

Whilst Marni was known for its bold prints, little is known about the style of Carolina’s brand, however it will sit within the luxury market for sure. At Marni, Carolina Castiglioni succeeded on opening the brand to a wider public via spearheading the opening of the brand’s Flower Market in hometown Milan in 2014, and then curating the ‘Becoming Marni’ event in collaboration with Brazilian artist Véio at the Venice Biennale in 2015.
